Dr. Jessica Nicholson Sonntag
Dr. Jessica Nicholson Sonntag is a dynamic and enthusiastic professional who is passionate about ensuring that all students receive the educational support needed to equally access education and leave school ready to navigate their life journeys.
Jessica brings years of experience working in public and non-public educational sectors, starting as a special education teacher in 1998. In her career, Jessica has worked as a special education teacher, special education coordinator, director of student services, principal and program director. In her current role of program director for Soaring Eagle Academy, Jessica maintains the day to day operations within the school, serves as the liaison between districts and families and monitors compliance with state and federal mandates.
A lifelong learner herself, Jessica has completed several degree and certification programs to enhance her skills and knowledge. She holds a Bachelors Degree in Special Education teaching with endorsements for both high and low incidence disabilities, a Masters of Science in Educational Administration, an Educational Doctoral Degree in Educational Leadership and a Licensed Leadership Coaching Specialist certificate from the National Federation of Coaching. In addition to her education accomplishments, Jessica maintains active licensure through the Illinois State Board of Education as a superintendent, director of special education, general administration principal and special education teacher.
